Projection, Extrapolation & CBA tool webinar recording
The V4SAFETY webinar series shares the project’s final results across several topical sessions, each addressing a key theme.
This webinar - which took place on 16 September 2025 - focused on simulation results extrapolation in space and projection in time.
Extrapolation in space allows predicting values adapting simulation results to another spatial context than the simulation area and taking into account of possible biases such as demography changes.
Projection in time allows estimating future outcomes based on current or past data to make informed predictions about trends, behaviours, conditions or effectiveness over a specified time period.
Some practical examples of V4SAFETY approach application for both extrapolation and projection were presented, and the webinar concluded with an illustration of the V4SAFETY Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) tool, which allows to assess the socio-economic impact of introducing safety measures and thus to support decision making on road safety investments.
