How to make safety assessment with simulation more reliable and comparable?

We’re continuing the V4SAFETY webinar series… This webinar is the second of a series of webinars that present the final project results in details. The first webinar presented the safety assessment framework & evaluation scope.

In this webinar, we will explain how to turn data into a representative baseline for evaluating safety measures, considering different baseline approaches, addressing potential biases, outlining practical constraints and conclusions about the validity and limitations of comparing baselines. Variability between simulated road safety performances of systems may arise from the use of different tools and this is an undesirable effect when using virtual testing to set up ratings between technologies. We will share experience from the P.E.A.R.S. initiative and V4SAFETY project on efforts and steps undertaken to reduce this effect.

The subsequent webinars’ topics and schedules are as follows:
Simulation structure & ‘Processor’ (15 September,13:00 – 14:00 CET)
Projection & extrapolation (16 September,15:00 – 16:30 CET)
Human models (18 September, 13:00 – 14:30 CET)
